Description

Leicester City Council’s Economic Development Team have a requirement for Intellectual Property Practitioner:

IP Practitioner Audits
The LCB Business Development Team is seeking to appoint an experienced Intellectual Property Practitioner with practical experience of working in the creative and hi-tech industries sector, to conduct a series of IP audits for creative businesses in Leicester.
This pilot project will engage with up to 10 creative and hi-tech businesses and audit each business on the suitability of their IP provision. Each business will be provided with a report identifying key risks and opportunities or otherwise of the IP relevant to their business, and providing guidance and recommendations.
Each IP audit should include:-

• A pre-meeting/visit questionnaire to be completed by the client before the meeting/visit
• A 1-2-1 meeting/visit of up to 1 hour to understand the client’s business and current IP provision
• Provide a written report for the client detailing the current suitability of their IP, identify potential IP risks and make recommendations for remedial actions

The practitioner will be required to design all forms/questionnaires/report necessary for the audit. All forms will need to be approved by the Business Development Team and should comply with ERDF publicity guidelines.
The businesses will be asked to complete a short questionnaire for consideration onto the pilot project. Ten of the most suitable – chosen in partnership with the LCB Business Development Team and the successful IP practitioner – will then be offered a free IP audit.
Payment:
We have allocated £300 (exc VAT) per engagement for this activity up to a maximum of 10 engagements (£3,000). This is a pilot project to scope demand and there is the potential to expand to include additional clients if there is sufficient need and value for the service. The cost per engagement will cover all the associated development costs, expenses and time spent 1-2-1 with the client.
