Description of the contract

Background Our client is looking for an experienced Internal Communications Manager, based in London, to lead internal communications and staff engagement – this role is for 6 months initially. Based in the News and Communications team, you will be working across the department providing internal comms advice to senior managers, human resources and policy teams. You will need to provide strategic advice and implement plans accordingly. You will also be involved in coordinating internal events within the company. Main Duties/ Responsibilities You need to be an energetic self-starter with strong communications planning skills and good writing skills. Experience of change management and staff engagement is important. You will need to plan and manage your own work and be able to work with people at all levels across the department. This is a standalone position so you will need to balance strategy with a hands on approach. Outputs/ Deliverables to be achieved Your main duties will include; • Developing and delivering an internal comms strategy • Working closely with the change and senior leadership teams • Ensuring staff are aware and engaged with key corporate initiatives • Managing a range of internal communications channels, including writing and producing a weekly e-newsletter • Managing key internal staff events, including business briefings and ‘Learning at Work’ week. Skills/ Experience Required Public sector experience is desirable You must have a good understanding of change communications, a good strategic overview but also be hands on
