Description of the contract

Our client requires a contractor to start asap for 10 months. You will be required to support the ICT engagement strategy and deliver first rate internal publications by managing communications and engagement content and channels that deliver ICT communications and engagement outcomes. This is achieved through: • Managing one or more communication channels, • Engaging with key stakeholders across ICT to commission content • Editing and delivering content through appropriate channels, • Continually reviewing and developing content and channel performance and making recommendations for improvements. Accountabilities • Agreed and regularly updated forward schedule for an ICT newsletter • Delivery of a high quality ICT newsletter to schedule. • Publication of ICT news stories on internal digital channels Main Duties/ Responsibilities • Take lead responsibility for the planning, commissioning, editing and delivery of monthly ICT newsletter, delivering a high quality product on time. • Publish ICT news stories on internal ICT digital channels to support the newsletter. • Build strong relationships with various “champion” networks, and other stakeholders. • Support delivery of internal ICT events to create closer relationships of teams across ICT. • Support the ICT Change Communications manager in delivery of the internal communications plan, ensuring ICT internal communication activity is strategically co-ordinated, supported and delivered. • Provide advice and guidance on internal communications issues, providing draft content on time and of good quality. Outputs/ Deliverables to be achieved Dimensions Scope & Complexity • Internal communications plan • Rolling schedule of future contents for the monthly newsletter • Provide advice/guidance on communications issues • Develop specific communications products as required including marketing material • Plan and deliver events as required • Draft articles as required • Build up a library of updated briefing material People management • Provides expert guidance and coaching to colleagues, ensuring knowledge is transferred where required • Indirect reports – Works with a variety of ICT stakeholders and third party suppliers to assure that process and quality levels are fully maintained. Assists own management to plan and resource the business it expects to deliver. • Contributes to maintaining a ‘learning’ environment that facilitates high-quality knowledge transfer which safeguards business delivery during a period of significant change. Skills/ Experience Required Essential: • Demonstrable experience of commissioning, editing and delivering content via print and digital channels • Demonstrable experience of producing high quality, internal publications to strict timescales • Excellent written and verbal communications skills and able to translate complex technical information into simple and easy to understand messages • Ability to work as part of a team to deliver outcomes to tight deadlines • Experience of producing products using Quark Xpress and Adobe Creative Suite (especially Acrobat and Illustrator) or similar Desirable: Good interpersonal and networking skills with ability to influence at all levels in a large and diverse group • Capable of forming strong relationships and working in partnership across boundaries • Recent experience of working in significant organisational change • Ability to adapt quickly to changing environments
