Description of the contract

Arun District Council is inviting a professional fee proposal for the initial feasibility, design, specification, procurement and overall project / contract management of refurbishment work required at both of its Leisure Centres in West Sussex. Arun Leisure Centre is situated in Felpham, Bognor Regis, West Sussex and the Littlehampton Sports and Swimming Centre is based in Littlehampton West Sussex. It is intended that two separate procurement exercises will take place, this one being the first. This first procurement exercise is being undertaken in order to obtain a professional fee quote to identify a suitable consultant to complete the tasks detailed. The second procurement exercise to follow will provide for the formal procurement of suitable contractors to complete the agreed refurbishment work on the leisure site. This second exercise will take place once the Council have identified their preferred consultant partner. This will allow the Council to provide relevant tender information to the successful appointed consultant in order to ensure that the process is completed in full compliance with the Council’s standing orders. The current budget for the consultants and contractors work to both sports centres is circa £900,000 (including ALC fitness suite equipment) excluding VAT.
