Part 1 – to repeat the work carried out in 2005 on the extent and intensity of rotational burning in the English uplands using additional aerial imagery supplied by Natural England. Part 2 – Using the methodology developed under the GIFTSS programme and used subsequently to map burning on the North York Moors SAC/SPA, to create a baseline map of rotational burning in the North Pennines with which to establish the area burned and its relationship to the major habitats and other features such as slope and water courses
