Description of the contract

CRI is looking to invest in a new IT infrastructure programme to cater for 5000 Endpoint users; 2000 con-current users across 170+ locations for CRI staff, Service Users, and Partnership Agencies.

This new infrastructure needs to be scalable to cater for growth (at least 20% per annum) and flexible to enable the implementation of new technologies and applications outside of this Tender. The current IT infrastructure will be decommissioned as part of this programme. CRI is provisioning for a provider or multiple providers to deliver a design, build and deployment service for the infrastructure programme.

The tender will be split into lots and providers will have the opportunity to tender for specific elements of the infrastructure programme or tender to deliver the whole project.

The programme will include the following elements:

High Level Design / Low Level Design workshops and Project Plan

Components: Networking, Storage, Backup, Archiving, Physical Servers, Fully virtualised environment, Citrix Xenapp and Xendesktop environments, Remote Access, Microsoft Exchange, Email Security, Encryption & Archiving, New Active Directory Domain, Printing, Network Access Control, Managed Wireless Infrastructure, Server and Network Monitoring, Systems Management Servers, Enterprise Off-line File Sync and Sharing system.

Disaster Recovery: The infrastructure needs to be available across two datacentres in a high availability Active/Passive design which will cater for 100% of users in a failover scenario and a DR Failover plan will need to be created.

Implementation and Test: The entire infrastructure will need to be built in conjunction with the existing CRI IT Infrastructure Staff. Once built this will need to be performance and disaster recovery tested for all scenarios.

Migration Plan: The new infrastructure needs to interoperate with the existing infrastructure and a migration plan needs to be created for all current users, data and existing databases to move from the existing infrastructure onto the new whilst still being able to communicate with all employees on either system. Training will be required for all users to familiarise themselves with the new system and all IT Staff to support the new infrastructure.
