ITT for Volunteer Infrastructure Support Service

The Commissioned function will act as a central point of co-ordination for volunteering support and activity across the Trafford Council and is open to consortia and Individual Provider bids.

The infrastructure support will be to work with existing volunteers that Trafford Council utilise and to increase the number of volunteers that support core services.

Volunteer activity will be primarily focussed around 3 Early Help/ Prevention key areas:

1. Services to support children and young people within the Early Help hubs for 0-11 years hubs in Stretford and Partington and the Early Help hub for 11-18 years hub in Sale

1. Adult service volunteer activity throughout Trafford particularly focused on:

• Activity to prevent or reduce hospitalisation and avoid discharge delays
• Enabling vulnerable people to maintain independence within their own home
• Assisting with quality assurance of care services

The service will act as the key point for co-ordinating volunteers which includes the following functions;

• Advertising & recruitment
• Arranging DBS checks and declarations at renewal points
• Training
• Induction
• On-going management and supervision of volunteer activity
• Co-ordination including arranging cover
• Administrating volunteering expenses
