The Authority is seeking a service provider to maintain Jubilee Gardens by providing cleansing services in keeping with the reputation and importance of the Jubilee Gardens public area from November 2013 to 31.5.2015. Jubilee Gardens is a 16,000 sq m² Gardens located in London’s iconic South Bank. It is a world-class public open space of national and regional significance, and of the highest quality, reflecting its heritage, its riverside location and Jubilee associations. It is a multi-functional green space that delivers key benefits for the community, local businesses and cultural venues. It receives 6 million visitors per year.
This will involve cleaning and maintenance of all hard landscapes, street furniture, litter picking, bin emptying, chewing gum and graffiti removal, leaf clearance drain and gully cleaning, playground cleaning as well as daily inspection regime to street furniture, bollards, lighting columns, irrigation system. (list is not exhaustive). From 1.6.2015 – 31.3.2016 works to include full cleansing as above as well as horticultural maintenance which will involve; lawn mowing and cutting lawn edges; lawn aeration; lawn verticutting, scarification and fertilization; application of herbicides; irrigation checks; pop-up sprinkler checks; drip line checks; tree and root ball moisture checks; planting of beds to include seasonal changes and year round planting bed; weed control to planting and hard surfaces; tree inspection; tree weed control, tree fertilization and tree mulch top-up. There is also the potential for a further 2 years extension to the contract taking it up to 2018.
