Buildings of particular historical or architectural interest. Roof works and other special trade construction works. Miscellaneous special-trade construction work. Boiler installations. Facing brickwork. Painting work of buildings. Floor and wall covering work. Kenwood House, which is a Grade 1 listed building and comprises the repair of the external envelope of the house and the interior repair and re-presentation of the Adam Interiors (Entrance Hall, Adam Staircase, Ante-chamber and Adam Library) & South Front rooms (Lord Mansfield’s Dressing room, Breakfast room, Lady Mansfield’s room and the Housekeeper’s room). The scope of exterior works will include: repair / renewal of roof coverings, rooflights and gutters; installation of a new lightning protection system; repair of the structural roof timbers; repair / renewal / improvement of the rainwater disposal system; repair / renewal of rendered surfaces, including the GRP decoration on the south elevation; repair/repointing of brickwork, including chimneys; repair / overhaul of windows, doors, joinery and metalwork; complete external redecoration of the house, including a specialist sanded paint finish to the north elevation and portico. The scope of internal work will include specialist decorations and finishes, including laying and finishing timber floors. The house boilers are to be replaced, together with the installation of new heating controls and alterations to the heating in the Adam Library. As part of the interior re-presentation, there will be new specialist lighting and minor alterations to building services. Internally, there will also be alterations to the Business Reception to create an Orientation Hub and works to improve the Education room, together with other minor alterations to facilitate installation of new interpretation. The commencement date for project will be June 2012 and is due for completion July 2013.
