A key holder database and key fob recovery service is currently operated in Suffolk through the Suffolk SAFEKey scheme, see www.suffolk.safekey.org.uk A key holder service allows business and residential property owners to securely have their emergency contact and key holder details accessible to the Commissioner in the event of an incident occurring at their property whilst the property is unattended, allowing the Commissioner to know whom to contact.
A key fob recovery service aims to reunite people with their lost or stolen keys. This is achieved by members of the scheme having a key fob, with a unique reference number, which invites anyone that finds the lost keys to return them to a PO Box address or hand them over to the police. The person returning the keys will receive a ‘Finder’s Fee’ from the key fob service provider.
