Trent and Dove Housing Ltd are seeking bona-fide contractors to invite into a competitive tender who are capable of directly delivering (as the sole main-contractor) a programme of kitchen replacement and/or bathroom replacement over a three year period of circa 100 – 200 occupied domestic dwellings per annum.
More specifically the works will include
– Kitchen – strip out existing units splashbacks and tiles, possible alterations to internal walls, strip out of water/gas/electric service supplies, rewire on a separate ring main, renew plumbing (including gas pipework), install new kitchen base/wall units complete with worktop basin and taps, repair plaster, install new wall tiling. All to be in accordance with the layout design supplied via nominated kitchen supplier.
– Bathroom – strip out existing sanitary fittings complete with all tiling and plumbing, install new complete bathroom suite with all taps/plumbing, make good walls and retile as instructed.
– Working in an occupied property – Provision must be made to allow tenants reasonable access to both the kitchen and bathroom during the works, all existing floor & wall surfaces throughout the work area and access routes are to be protected, tenant’s belongings & property must also be protected. In addition at the end of each working day each property and its tenants must be left with adequate provision for food preparation and bathing/toileting facilities.
This invitation being the first stage (PQQ) of a two stage procurement and will be evaluated by means of mandatory pass / fail questions and scored technical resource questions. The top six assessed contractors being invited to enter a second stage (ITT) that will itself be evaluated 20% quality 80% price.
The works when awarded will be undertaken under a formal JCT form of contract (Intermediate Building with Contractor’s Design) for a contract period of three years commencing August 2014.
