The AHVLA has a requirement for the provision of TSE rapid testing for fallen cattle, fallen sheep and goats and animals originating from infected flocks or herds in accordance with Annex III of Commission Regulation (EC) No 999/2001. The testing provision will also include samples from 10 000 healthy slaughter sheep.
The AHVLA will require the successful bidder to supply consumables as part of the required TSE rapid testing provision. The TSE rapid test selected for use by the successful bidder will be listed in Annex X of (EC) Council Regulation 999/2001, as last amended by the Commission (EC) 956/2010 of 22.10.2010.
The proposed testing volume for 2012-13 comprises a total of approximately 160 000 TSE rapid tests. Any legislative changes that may influence the predicted testing volume during the life of the contract are outside of the control of this tender.

Objective criteria for choosing the limited number of candidates: Scoring Criteria in PQQ. The 3-5 suppliers obtaining the highest score will be asked to progress to ITT. A selection board will be used to agree the final number by identifying a logical cut-off point, i.e. If there is a large score difference between 4th and 5th position then AHVLA will just take the top 4 stable organsiations.
