To provide landscape maintenance services and some minor works to London’s 8 Royal Parks and other open spaces managed by The Royal Parks Agency. The contract duration will be for an initial term of 3 years followed by 2 optional extension periods of 2 years each. The Royal Parks is also inviting variant bids for an intial term of 7 years followed by an optional 3 year extension period. The parks and other areas are Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens and Brompton Cemetery, St James’s Park and The Green Park, The Regent’s Park and Primrose Hill and the Longford River, Greenwich Park, Richmond Park and Bushy Park. Landscape maintenance services include the full range of amenity horticulture arrangements (excluding tree works that are undertaken through our existing aboriculture contract). Other services will include but are not limited to: supporting events; litter picking; refuse collection; road/path sweeping; cleansing and gritting; playground inspection; and grave digging at Brompton Cemetery. Aside from the core work required, a number of additional landscape schemes may be carried out during the contract term according to budget availability. There may also be a requirement to provide the services to properties managed by other Central Government bodies, Agencies, NDPBs and other allied organisations close to the parks managed by the Authority. As part of the landscape maintenance services procurement, The Royal Parks will be asking tenderers to price for gate locking and unlocking services. This requirement will also be tendered to security companies at the same time but could form part of this contract if it offers the best value for money.
