Landscaping Contract Leicester

Leicester City Council wishes to appoint a contractor to develop a phased ‘light touch’ landscaping plan for the back garden at Makers Yard.

The back garden of Makers Yard was levelled with top soil in April 2013 and given a basic landscaping design. Leicester City Council requires a landscaping approach that will keep the area low maintenance but also enable tenants and visitors to enjoy this green city centre space.

REQUIREMENTS

(a) Analyse back garden area and advise on any necessary/urgent actions e.g. eliminating specific weeds.

(b) Consult and engage with tenants, local artists/ designer-maker community, immediate neighbours (Curve and the owner of the Leather Factors, 78 Rutland St) and other interested stakeholders.

(c) Develop a fully costed and phased landscaping design, focussing on the following indicative key delivery dates:

(i) Short-term improvements –delivered by August 2014
(ii) Mid-term improvement s – delivered by Spring 2015
(iii) Long-term improvements – delivered by Winter 2015

(d) Deliver the agreed work to the agreed timescales.

SITE VISIT

A site visit has been arranged 14:00hrs, 6 May 2014 for the Makers Yard site. Contractors should meet at the LCB Depot reception, 31 Rutland Street, Leicester LE1 1RE, by 13:45hrs to be taken over to the site. Contractors will be shown around by Julia Hamer, Manager based at LCB Depot. Her contact details are 0116 2616804.

Only quotations on the form below will be accepted. However, any supporting documents will be considered.

This should be returned by 16:00hrs on Monday 12 May 2014 at the very latest.
