Description of the goods or services requiredCurrent Scottish Government health policy affecting maternity services in Scotland require effective local midwifery leadership to deliver implementation and achievement of the quality improvement aspirations. This project aims to build leadership capacity for quality improvement in practice, through supporting existing leaders, whilst succession planning for the future. NHS Education for Scotland will undertake a facilitation and coordination role to enable the development of the leadership capabilities of a cohort of midwives. The programme itself will be made up of three one day events. The final event at the end of the project in March 2013 will provide an opportunity for all those who have taken part in the programme to showcase their projects, review their successes and the challenges in implementing their learning in practice. In addition the consultant will work with the Educational Projects Manager to organise and co-facilitate the two national events take place in September 2012 and March 2013.
