The funeral service provided should be capable of meeting the needs of the diverse community for which the Council is responsible.

The Council has a legal obligation to meet its respective responsibilities under the 2014 Care Act and 1984 Public Health (Control of Diseases) Act. Deaths which occur where there are no known relatives are allocated to a social care worker.
