Renfrewshire Council (“the Council”), Renfrewshire House, Cotton Street, Paisley is advertising for applications from enrolled solicitors to establish a list of Financial Guardians for use by the Council.

Appointments to the list shall be in respect of individuals (not partnerships or other incorporated organisations) and accordingly selection and appointment will be based on the personal qualities, experience and ability of the applicant. The Council reserves the right to review and advertise the requirement for the list on a periodic basis.

The list resulting from this advertisement is anticipated to be in use for an initial period of 3 years with the option to use the list for a further 1 or 2 years at its discretion but the Council reserves the right to reconsider the position. The solicitor who has been taken from the established list shall be nominated by the Council in a petition to the Sheriff who may in his absolute discretion decide to appoint the solicitor to perform the tasks and duties outlined in the petition.

The costs and fees in normal circumstances will be paid from the estate of the adult on whose behalf the petition has been made, failing which paid by the Council ,on a time and line basis,in accordance with the Law Society of Scotland’s scale of fees.

The advertisement takes the form of a contract notice in the Public Contracts Scotland (PCS) portal – www.publiccontractsscotland.gov.uk and thereafter an application has to be submitted electronically through the Public Contracts Scotland Tender Module – www.publictendersscotland.publiccontractsscotland.gov.uk
