Description of the goods or services requiredAn exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for history has arisen at Trinity House Maritime Museum. Historic Scotland’s Learning Services team is looking to commission a creative and enthusiastic individual as Local Learning Officer at the museum. The Local Learning Officer will work closely with the regional Learning Development Officer to develop and deliver educational resources and activities that support teaching and inspire learning at this magnificent historic site. The Local Learning Officer is a freelance contract post of 100 days per annum. The contract has been designed to allow the successful candidate to work an average of two days per week, but how the actual hours of work are composed can be flexible in accordance with the nature of the work being undertaken at a particular time. Rate of pay is £150 per day. Funding for the project is for an initial period of 5 years, with the possibility of extension. Applications are sought from individuals who have experience of teaching in schools or in a cultural/heritage environment. While the opportunity is open to specialists in any subject area, a working knowledge of current curricular developments, and especially Curriculum for Excellence, is highly desirable.
