— Provide a programme of business support to SMEs that want to engage in the low carbon energy supply chains in Somerset and the South West;
— Operate the innovation centre that forms part of the Project.
There will be some financial support for these activities for a fixed period following which all of the Operator’s income will be generated through rents received from the innovation centre.

To receive more information and an invitation to an awareness event, please email LYMadge@somerset.gov.uk. You will be sent the initial “scope” of the work and invited to an awareness event on 10.7.2013, to be held near Bridgwater, Somerset.
Somerset County Council and others will give presentations on the current scope of the requirement and take questions. There will be opportunity for further discussion on the day. Stakeholders will also be given a list of key questions and invited to submit a written response. The results of this exercise will be used to inform a revised scope of work for the Operator.
Somerset County Council intends to procure an Operator that can start to deliver part of the service from temporary premises in early 2014.
No organisation that takes part on the day will be advantaged or disadvantaged in any way in the formal procurement. All discussions and submissions made during the process will be fully and properly recorded using the pro-forma documentation prepared at the beginning of the process. Commercial confidentiality will be respected.
This notice does not represent the commencement of, or a formal commitment by, the Council to comence a procurement procedure. It is, however, currently anticpated that a contract notice will be issued in August 2013.
