The term machine surfacing contract is required to enable the client to be able to carry out annual programmes of machine surfacing works throughout the county, as part of on gong maintenance works, safety repairs and improvement works and ensure that the works will be carried out in a safe manner in accordance with the industry requirements.
The contractor will be required to liaise with third parties and others, coordinate the works including obtaining the correct road space permits and the programme works evenly across the county, agree designs and check measurements, carry out any necessary site preparation operations including, minor civil works, coring, patching, iron work adjustments and replacement, carry out inlay and overlay machine surfacing, provide road markings, cat’s eyes/road stud replacement, loop cutting, sweeping and gully, emptying to the finished site, provide all necessary traffic management, agree final measures and invoicing, keep records of the carbon footprint associated with the works activities and implement alternative ways or working that demonstrate reductions in the carbon footprint over the course of the contract and recommend alternative solutions for consideration by the client.
