You are invited to tender for the supply, installation and commissioning of a Universal Medium Duty Vertical Machining Centre for the new Design Prototype & Testing Centre (DPTC) at the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre.
The machining centre shall be capable of 5 sided machining of a diverse range of components typical of the high value engineering sector. The machine must be extremely adaptable to accommodate a wide range of parts geometries, sizes and weights and must maintain high geometrical accuracies over the working volume. A direct measuring system and centrally lubricated roller guideways for permanent precision. Preference given to machine with built in rotary table powered by B/C axes.
Anticipated work piece materials are aluminium alloys, plain carbon steel, stainless steels, titanium and nickel alloys.
The work area must be a minimum:
X axis travel – 500mm.
Y axis travel – 450mm.
Z axis travel – 400mm.
This is an open EU procurement procedure. The ITT can be downloaded by registering and expressing your interest on the University’s e-tendering system https://in-tendhost.co.uk/Sheffield. Completed tenders must be returned through the same e-tendering system.
