Lancaster University is seeking to procure a main contractor to deliver a new Department of Chemistry within the existing Faraday Building.
Reflecting the growing popularity of Chemistry at Lancaster and its aspiration to deliver high quality teaching and research, the newly refurbished areas will provide a first class environment which contains specially designed research laboratories, teaching laboratories, specialised instrument rooms and office areas.
The Faraday Building refurbishment works incorporate 4 938m2 of gross internal floor area. The design is premised on live labs which will deliver teaching and research in physical, non-synthetic and synthetic chemistry, supporting high quality research such as NMR spectroscopy, renewable energy, chemical engineering and manufacturing.
