Description of these options: The Contract will run for an initial period of twelve months and may be extended for up to a further three years by notice of the Council. The extension period may be implemented in increments.

For the avoidance of doubt, as the Services to be provided under this Contract are categorised as ‘Part B’ Services under the Public Contracts Regulations 2006 (as amended) and therefore not subject to the full extent of these Regulations, the Council will not be bound by any statutory time limits.
This Notice follows the Council’s cancellation of the award procedure in respect of Framework Agreement 1606 (Framework for the Maintenance of Highway Verges and Weed Control), relating to Contract Notice 2011/S 242-392859 published in the Supplement to the Official Journal to the European Union on 16.12.2011.

Acceptance of a Tender by the Council shall be communicated in writing to the successful Tenderer. All unsuccessful Tenderers shall receive written notification of the Council’s decision. The notice will include:
— the name of the party to be awarded the Contract,
— the award criteria and corresponding scores obtained by (i) the Tenderer to receive the notice and (ii) the winning Tenderer,
— the reasons for the Council’s decision, including the characteristics and relative advantages of the successful Tender,
— a precise statement of when the standstill period is expected to end and the date after which the Contract may be entered into.
Tenderers will have the duration of the standstill period to seek further information or bring proceedings. Such information should be sought from the Council’s Authorised Officer using the contact details set out in section I.1 of this notice.
Please note that the Council reserves the right, at its absolute discretion, to extend the standstill period until any representations from unsuccessful Tenderers have been fully considered and concluded, and to alter its award decision or terminate entirely the award procedure at such time.
