The provision of a Pathology Point of Care (POCT) Managed Service Contract. This currently includes blood gas (including electrolytes, metabolites and co-oximetry), glucose meters, urinalysis and HbA1c with an expectation to include ketone meters on implementation. It must also accommodate any future POCT devices that are approved by the Trust POCT Committee over the life of the contract.
The Managed Service must include the following:
a) All aspects of equipment provision, including but not limited to procurement, assisting the Trust in evaluation, installation and implementation.
b) Full IT connectivity of all devices so that all POCT results are available across the Trust and held in the patient’s electronic records.
c) Comprehensive training management system to include but not limited to, face to face delivery of training, record keeping, certification and ideally e-learning.
d) All aspects of equipment maintenance and support.
e) Management of all reagents and consumables necessary to provide the service.
f) Management of IQC and EQA.
g) Be compliant with the current version of the CPA Standards for the Medical Laboratory and Additional Standards for Point-of-Care Testing (POCT) Facilities, ISO 15189, and ISO 22870 standards.

For a period of 7 years with the Trust reserving the option to extend for a further period of up to 3 years.
