This is an opportunity to tender for the Council’s contract to manage a shared lives scheme in Plymouth.
The Council would like to expand the number of options available to support vulnerable people to live in their local community. The ‘shared lives’ approach delivers innovative, person-centred support in a family home setting.
Plymouth City Council has commissioned a shared lives scheme (for people aged 18 and over) since 2004. The Council would like to continue to commission a shared lives management service and believes a successful shared lives scheme will continue to bring a number of benefits to Plymouth.
A shared lives scheme provider’s role includes the recruitment, assessment, training and management of shared lives carers to ensure that all services, accommodation and/or care or support provided for people meets the individual needs of each person requiring the service.
