Description of the contract
NHS Croydon CCG has taken a strategic decision to put in place formal contracting arrangements for Children with Continuing Care needs. This decision includes our commitment to the develpoment and implementation of a robust framework for packages of care for Children with Continuing Care needs. NHS Croydon CCG are therefore organising a market test event and would like to invite interested parties and give an opportunity to: ~ Share our vision and proposal on the way forwrad ~ Gather views and comments from a range of providers and interested parties Croydon CCG have arrange a market engagement event to take place on the 13th MAy 2014 at the following venue ( between 16:00 – 18:00 hours): Room 3, 8th Floor, Leon House, High Street, Croydon, CR0 9XT Teas and coffee served at 3:45pm Interested providerrs are asked to register on the Bravo ee-tendering portal in the first instance and to review the documentation available on the portal and urgently submit contact details of clinicians who will attend the event. If you are attending this event, please ensure you have registered on the Bravo Portal no later than close of business on the 8th May 2014 to inform the CCG of your attendance to the event and to reserve your place. 2. Background information Continuing Care provision for children with complex medical needs within Croydon Borough has been historically commissioned on ‘spot purchase’ arrangements. Croydon Clinical Commissioning Group is proposing to tender for Children and Young People’s Continuing Care provision, via Any Qualified Provider, and would therefore like to invite potentially interested parties to an event to; • Share our vision and proposal on the way forward; • Gather views and comments from a range of providers and interested parties; • Provide more information about the procurement process and timeline for this. . 3. Service objectives The National Framework for Children’s and Young People’s Continuing Care (DH 2010) defines continuing care as: ‘A package of care required when a child or young person has needs arising from disability, accident or illness that cannot be met by existing universal or specialist services alone. Continuing care does not cover children or young people with care needs that may be appropriately met through existing or specialist health services.’ 4. Service commencement date and contract duration This service looks to commence in October 2014 and the intended duration of the contract will be 3 years with option to extend for a further two years and is subject to change. 5.
