Description

Markham Vale is a 200 acre business park located off the M1 at Junction 29A. It offers prime industrial, warehouse and office accommodation, ranging from 3000 sq ft to 1 million square feet.

The overall aim of the Assessment is to review and update the Markham Employment Growth Zone Masterplan and economic impact study, prepared for the County Council in August 2001.

Over the 11 years since the study, the County Council has developed Phases 1 and 2 of the site delivering 100 acres of new employment land, and a new motorway junction (M1 J29A) giving direct access into the site.

The Assessment will evaluate the actual achievements over the 11 years, compared with the economic impact, outputs and outcomes anticipated in the original Masterplan.

Based upon this review of the last 11 years, the Assessment will look ahead and suggest options for the future development of the site, including the financial and economic viability of developing a further 33 hectares of land at the former Seymour Colliery.
