Description of the goods or services required

Caerphilly County Borough Council (CCBC) are inviting tenders for the renewal of Mcafee Anti Virus and endpoint Encryption products from McAfee “Reseller Elite” partners with 10 or more Total Authorised Tech Certifications.

The Endpoint Encryption product is used to provide full disk encryption of 1,100 corporate laptops.

CCBC have a number of experienced staff who have managed the solution from the original SafeBoot product through to the current day.

CCBC are currently utilising McAfee AVD and has 3000 nodes licensed for the Corporate network and 5000 nodes of Viruscan Security Suite licensed for the Education network. The product is widely installed, mature, stable and the engineers have considerable experience with the products.

From December 2014 the authority is moving to a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) and as such it is reducing the number of Viruscan products in favour of McAfee Move products. The authority is using the Citrix Provisioning Server for this solution.

The contract period is for three years from 19/12/2014.

Additional Information

The process will be undertaken using Caerphilly CBC’s proactis plaza e-tendering system where the tender documents are available to be accessed.

The period to register interest in the opportunity on the proactis plaza e-tendering system is up to 02 December 2014. The system will not accept any further interest after this date.

The clarification period for any queries shall be up to 03 December 2014. Any queries shall via dialogue facility on the proactis plaza system but please note that No clarification queries will be responded to after this date.

The closing date for tender return via the e-tendering system is 12 noon on 05 December 2014. The system will not accept any tenders after this time and date.

Companies are invited to follow the following directions to register on to the system if you are not already registered and how in addition to have access to the documentation:-

1. Log in to the Proactis Plaza E-Sourcing Portal at https://www.proactisplaza.com/supplierportal

2. Click the “Register Now” button at the bottom of the window

3. Enter your correct Organisation Name, Details and Primary Contact Details. The system will auto generate the Organisation ID and User Name for you.

4. Please make a note of the Organisation ID and User Name, then click “Register”.

5. You will then receive an email from the system asking you to “Click here to activate your account”. This takes you to Enter Organisation Details.

6. Please enter the information requested, click “Next” and follow the instructions ensuring that you enter all applicable details.

7. In the Enter Product Classification screen please ensure that you select the Product Classification Codes (CPV Codes) that appear in the tender notice.

8. Accept the Terms and Conditions and then click “Next”. This takes you in to the Welcome window.

9. In the “Welcome” window please enter your Organisation name, Organisation ID and User Name (User ID). You now need to create your unique password. Please ensure that you make a note of this along with the other information already recorded.

10. Now click “Done” and you will enter the Supplier Home page.

11. From the Home Page, go to the “Opportunities” area, then search for New Opportunities. Click on the “ID” of the relevant opportunity and then click to register your interest on the relevant button. Click the “Requests from Buyers” command in the Opportunities area. This will take you to the list of current opportunities available to you.

12. Click the Project ID that relates to this notice, this will take you into the Tender Request.

13. Note the closing date for completion of the relevant project. Please review the “Items” tab and the Documents tab as there will be information relating to the project held here.

14. You can now either “Create a Response” to, or “Decline” this opportunity.
