Media Training for Further and Higher Education
Creative Provision: media and digital industry-led development programme for further and higher education.
Creative Skillset Cymru, the Sector Skills Council for the Creative Industries, has secured support from the Welsh Government’s Sector Priorites Fund Pilot 2 (SPFP2) programme to deliver Creative Provision: media and digital industry-led development programme for further (FE) and higher education (HE) in Wales.
Creative Provision will work with FE and HE institutions (course from level 3 up to and including level 7) in Wales who are not already engaged with the Creative Skillset accreditation – the Creative Skillset tick.
Together with mentors drawn from and representing five sub-sectors of industry (television, film, animation, computer games, interactive media [IM]), Creative Provision will support proactive, industry dialogue with providers to drive employer and education engagement.

At the end of this process, providers will have undergone a tailored mentoring process to discover how their provision could be enhanced to meet the needs of the industry. Creative provision will assist the aptitude of creative and digital media educators to meet the challenges of today’s rapidly changing media industry.
Creative Provision is supported by Creative Skillset Cymru’s national Board, which includes representation from BBC wales, ITV, S4C, Welsh Government, the Film Agency for wales (FAW), the trade union BECTU, trade associations TAC and PACT, the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales Interactive, Tinopolis, and Boom Pictures Cymru.

5. Willingness to work with industry mentor.
6. Current development opportunities for course staff.
7. Industry development needs of course staff.
8. Availability and willingness to take part in staff development programme May 2014 – December 2014 (max. 7 non-consecutive days).
9. Availability to attend 2-day Best practice Event October/November 2014.
10. Ability to deliver through the medium of English and/or Welsh.
11. Not already engaged with Creative Skillset accreditation programme.

Providers already associated with the Creative Skillset Accreditation programme (the Creative Skillset Tick) are not eligible to apply.
