The National Screening Committee wishes to procure a national antenatal and newborn screening data base repository and blood spot failsafe system integrated with a screening cohort service. In its first phase this system will support the specific requirements of the UK Newborn Screening Programme (Blood Spot) Centre (UKNSPC) and the NHS Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia Screening Programme (SCT) but will offer a platform for potential further development to support other antenatal and newborn screening programmes. Future phases would be procured in stages and delivered in managed phases.

1. Any Contract(s) ensuing from this process will be let for a period of 3 years with options to extend for two further periods of up to 12 months each.
2. The Contracting Authority intends to use an eTendering system in this procurement exercise and reserves the right to use a reverse auction.
