NHS Greater East Midlands Commissioning Support Unit on behalf of NHS Nene and NHS Corby Clinical Commissioning Groups is seeking to procure a innovative and meaningful mental health service user involvement service which can make a real impact on the quality and design of mental health services in Northamptonshire for people aged 18 years and above.
We are seeking an organisation that will demonstrate an ability to effectively gather and communicate the diverse range of views, recommendations and observations of people using mental health services in Northamptonshire and to strategically employ this information and knowledge to impact on the design and delivery of all mental health services in Northamptonshire. The provider will need to show how they will build on the work of the recently developed independent Northamptonshire Service User Reference Group (SURG), Service User Involvement Strategy and existing partnerships with Northamptonshire County Council, the University of Northampton and Northamptonshire Healthcare Foundation Trust.
It is expected that the successful organisation will be led, and the majority of its members will be made up, of people who have experience of using mental health services. That it will use a range of methods to engage and involve service users, including popular technology such as social networking and texting, to outreach and increase representation of all groups including those often underserved. It will also value and acknowledge all levels of service user involvement and have skills in the areas of service user led service evaluation, research and training. It will also show evidence of knowledge and understanding of pertinent local issues and developments.
NHS Nene and NHS Corby Clinical Commissioning Groups will be seeking a single provider which may be constituted by a collaboration of smaller providers or a single organisation.
The period of the contract will be for 2 years.
