Mentoring Service for Women Offenders

Perth and Kinross Council seeks to establish an intensive mentoring service for women offenders who are at risk of re-offending. Description of the goods or services required

Perth and Kinross Council seeks to establish an intensive mentoring service for women offenders who are at risk of re-offending. Priority for mentoring training will be given to women who have themselves offended. It is expected that the service will support eight to ten mentors per year and eight to ten clients per year.

The nature of the support will be based on the identified needs and priorities agreed between the woman and the referrer. Priority areas to be addressed will be negotiated between the client, the referrer and the mentor.These are likely to include housing, family relationships, finances, nutrition, sexual and emotional health and social relationships. The mentor will be responsible for supporting the client to maintain contacts with statutory organisations and counselling agencies.
