Suppliers are asked to register interest for 1 or more of the following mobility components. These requirements will be sent out as separate tender events, each with a term of 2 years and a provision to renew for 3 x 1 year periods. NGN will be looking at either selecting a single supplier or a range of suppliers for these tender events.
1. Mobile workforce management and data capture solution.
2. Mobile Workforce scheduling tool.
3. Mobility Platform — foundation for work force management and later other mobility requirements across NGN.
Mobile Workforce Management and Data Capture Solution:
The goal of this work is to:
— Improve the accuracy of data capture from the field.
— Improve the efficiency of back office work management procedures.
— Reduce field data input time.
— Have a solution that NGN can easily configure and change in house after go-live.
The scope of the procurement is expected to include:
— The deployment of a Workforce Management Solution, an establish product backlog is in place for this work, including requirements for work dispatch, field data capture and SAP integration.
— An NGN lead Accelerated Delivery Team (Agile) working alongside the system supplier, partner organisations that support our integrated applications (such as SAP and Ventyx Service Suite) and our system users to delivery features through regular releases.
— Applications maintenance services and licenses/subscriptions.
— Cloud based hosting and high levels of availability.
— User centred design and development (UX).
— Automated testing, Behavioural Driven Development and edge/UI testing.
Mobile Workforce Scheduling tool:
The goal of this work is to:
— Efficient dispatching of work to the best placed person to complete the work.
— User friendly visualisation of workforce availability and workload.
— Reduce back office data input time.
— Ability to automatically dispatch work.
— Have a solution that NGN can easily configure and change in house after go-live.
The scope of the procurement is expected to include:
— The deployment of a Workload Scheduling and Dispatch Solution, an establish product backlog is in place for this work, including requirements for work dispatch, field data capture and SAP integration
— An NGN lead Accelerated Delivery Team (Agile) working alongside the system supplier, partner organisations that support our integrated applications (such as SAP and Ventyx Service Suite) and our system users to delivery features through regular releases.
— Applications maintenance services and licenses/subscriptions.
— Option for cloud based hosting and high levels of availability.
— User centred design and development (UX).

The goal of this work is to:
— Increase re-use of technical components so reducing overall cost of ownership.
— Provide enterprise grade security.
— Enhance data integrity through robust mobile to back office solution integration.
— Improve mobile solution agility through flexible and quick deployment to multiple sub-groups of users.
— Enhance insight and ability to respond and adapt to mobile usage through full web service life-cycle management.
The scope of the procurement is expected to include:
— Application on prem or cloud licenses/subscriptions.
— Ongoing Application Maintenance services with high levels of availability.
— Ongoing development roadmap and upgrade path.
— Deployment support to NGN and selected NGN deployment partner.
— Training to NGN on use of application.
The procurement is intended to provide NGN with a mobile platform that supports:
— Secure and reliable access to a mobile platform.
— A partnership relationship with a supplier that will demonstrate the values of an NGN accelerated delivery team and with a proven track record of using agile delivery techniques and their values.
— A subscription/ licence model to support a scalable and flexible use of the product in NGN for a range of contracted durations from 1 to 5 years.
These procurement activities are intended to provide NGN with:
— A Secure and reliable access to hosted Workforce Management services, able to support the deployment of the product backlog.
— A partnership relationship with a supplier that will demonstrate the values of an NGN accelerated delivery team and with a proven track record of using agile delivery techniques and their values.
— A subscription/ licence model to support a scalable and flexible use of the product in NGN for a range of contracted durations from 1 to 5 years.
— Support NGN in achieving its customer targets and customer experience strategy.
— A reduced carbon footprint, for example through rationalisation, sharing of data centre facilities, and the use of more modern, efficient and sustainable hardware components.
Successful bidders will be expected to work as part of an NGN led Accelerated Delivery team to deliver the prioritised backlog through regular releases of features to production use, they will be required to have experience in Agile delivery techniques, have a product that can be utilised to meet the requirements in the product backlog, support automated testing and have a strong UX focus on their development for both a desktop and mobile client.
