Multi-functional Design of Switch and Crossing Works to sections of railway track and associated infrastructure throughout the UK rail network. The design will be progressed from the particular requirements provided by Network Rail through outline design development to validate the scope of the engineering elements, through the detailed design and the production of as built records of the delivered works.
Network Rail may wish for the successful tenderer(s) to form part of an Alliance with contractors for Switch and Crossing Track Works. A separate Contract Notice has been issued for Switch and Crossing Track Works which may form part of an Alliance.

Unless a multiparty Alliance agreement is formed, the terms of which will be developed with the successful contractor(s), conditions of contract shall be from the Network Rail standard suite (these can be found at http://www.networkrail.co.uk/aspx/4251.aspx). Payment will be by means of electronic transfer in accordance with the conditions of contract.

Information and formalities necessary for evaluating if the requirements are met: A tender qualification questionnaire setting out the requirements is available from the email address as set out in section I.1. Interested economic operators who believe they satisfy the conditions for participation included in section III.2 must inform Network Rail Infrastructure Limited that they wish to be considered for the programme, and subsequently complete and return the tender qualification questionnaire. The questionnaire will be issued after the closing date for requests to participate.

This procurement is carried out on behalf of Network Rail Infrastructure Limited (NRIL) and other companies within the NRIL group of companies in existence now and in the future.
The duration of the framework(s) will be 5 years, with an option to extend for up to a further 5 years. The value range stated in section II.1.4 is the anticipated total spend across all frameworks over a 5 year period, rather than per framework.
