Description of the contract
Cabinet Office is looking for an ambitious social media agency to develop and deliver a social media strategy for National Citizen Service (NCS). We would like to bring in a specialist agency to help manage our NCS social media presence. NCS is a flagship government initiative which brings people together and breaks down social barriers. It is a life changing opportunity for 16 and 17 year olds who have just finished their GCSEs and are at a transitional point in their lives. Key requirements: A) Support summer and play a pivotal role in autumn sign-ups to the scheme via social media channels, driving expressions of interest so we can meet our 30,000 2012 target. B) Help raise awareness levels of the programme via our current digital destinations (website, including but limited to facebook, youtube) and drive action, maximising impact. C) Explore, build upon and set-up fresh creative social media routes to expand our online NCS community and encourage content sharing across platforms i.e. blogs, webchats, new content, forums, chat rooms, competitions. D) Take responsibility for creating new engaging content and footage to share across social media platforms. This will involve the supplier facilitating filming of NCS during the summer in various locations in England. The supplier will be required to manage the entire process. This element of the specification can be sub contracted if the specific skill set do not exist in-house. E) Build an active and engaged online NCS community amongst grads and recruits which has longevity, encouraging peer-to-peer involvement – both through existing channels and potentially new paths. F) Develop an authentic and credible tone of voice and digital ‘personality’ for NCS across all platforms. Secondary Requirements: G) Amplify the social media activity of our NCS delivery partners to make us more cohesive and united in our ‘NCS voice’. Look at ways to link delivery partner facebook pages with our central facebook page, as well as other channels H) Engage Celebrity Ambassadors in promotion of NCS across all social media platforms. Term and Budget: The contract is for an initial term from 20th June 2012 (or the actual date of the award of contract) until 30th October 2012, with an optional extension of 3 months, that the Cabinet Office reserves the right to take up. The Cabinet Office would consider the extension at the end of the initial term. Your expressions of interest is required by 11:00 am on Friday 1st June 2012. If the Cabinet Office takes up the extension option, the maximum budget is £30,000. including VAT. The date stated in the section titled: ‘Estimated Length of Contract’, is the initial term and the extension option, which the Cabinet Office reserves the right to take up.
