Construction of extension to National Cycle Network Route north of Garn Lakes, Blaenavon for approximately 1.2km over ecologically sensitive upland landscape ( Waun Afon ).

Works to include installation of new mitigation fencing and associated works including working with consultant ecologist who in addition to providing watching brief will undertake species translocation works as necessary including working with local community groups. Ecologist to be employed directly by local authority not through this contract.
Construction works include excavation in wet or damp ground, laying of recycled plastic geogrid sufacing backfilled with as dug material (2.4m wide), installation of self binding gravel cyclepath (3m wide),installation of recycled boardwalk both flush and raised with handrail, construction of entrance areas to include : stone walling, tarmacing, pcc edging, stone sett paving, installation of timber post and raiil fencing, steel gates, motor cycle barrier, sheef proof cattle grid and timber bollards, stock proof fencing, creation of hibernaculas and small scrapes, transportation and minor grading of site won material.
