NHS Health Education England (HEE — the Commissioner) are commencing a tender for the provision of a national discovery service solution for the NHS in England.
Health Education England (HEE) is seeking to procure a national discovery service solution for the NHS in England. Our vision is ‘to provide healthcare staff and learners with a coherent gateway to their trusted library and knowledge service, connecting them seamlessly to quality resources, services and support tailored to their needs’. Our key goals are to:
• increase use of high-quality NHS-funded and curated knowledge and evidence resources, including locally purchased and generated resources as well as national resources: we want to see both greater usage and more users;
• ensure that healthcare staff and learners across England have a consistent, positive experience of accessing knowledge and evidence resources and library support;
• reduce the complexity, inequity and costs inherent in maintaining multiple local and legacy resource discovery and management systems across the country.
The contract period will be for 5 years, subject to annual budget review and KPI gateways.
The maximum value per year is as follows:
— year 1: GBP 240 000,
— year 2: GBP 240 000,
— year 3: GBP 240 000,
— year 4: GBP 72 000,
— year 5: GBP 72 000.

The deadline for submission of completed ITT submissions is Friday 7 August 2020 at 12 p.m. (midday). Late submissions will not be accepted. The ePortal system will shutdown at 12 p.m. and any unsubmitted bids not registered to the system at this time will not be accepted.
