Lot 1 friction lock batons.
The MPS is tendering for the supply of a range Friction Lock Batons, with their associated holders. The baton sizes and estimated volumes required are:
16 inch – 300-500 units
21 inch – 15 000-21 000 units
26 inch – 800-1 000 units
Batons are required to be extended via a flick of the wrist to a fully extended, locked position OR be capable of being pulled open by the tip. A retaining mechanism must hold the telescopic sections (when in the closed position) to prevent unintended extension. Each shaft, when extended, must lock rigidly in place via the friction caused by the inner shafts of the baton. The extended baton must be retracted without the use of tools.
Lot 2 positive lock batons.
The MPS is tendering for the supply of a range positive lock batons, with their associated holders. The baton sizes and estimated volumes required are:
16 inch – 50-100 units
21 inch – 6 000-12 000 units
26 inch – 200-500 units
Batons are required to be extended via a flick of the wrist to a fully extended, locked position OR be capable of being pulled open by the tip. A retaining mechanism must hold the telescopic sections (when in the closed position) to prevent unintended extension. Each shaft, when extended, must lock rigidly in place via a secure mechanism. The extended baton must be retracted without the use of tools.
Lot 3 solid batons.
The MPS is tendering for the supply of a range solid batons, with their associated holders. The baton sizes and estimated volumes required are:
24 inch – 200-500 units
26 inch – 500-1 000 units
No quantity can be guaranteed for the call off period.
This framework will be open for access to all UK Police Forces (a police authority established under section 3 of the Police Act 1996; a police authority established under section 2 of the Police (Scotland) Act 1967; the Northern Ireland Policing Board), the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Justice (prison service).
