National Museums Scotland Masterplan Phase 3 Interactive Displays Consultant

2.2

Description of the goods or services required

We want to secure the services from an interactive displays consultant(s) to manage the final development of the mechanical, software and AV interactive displays through to completion. The consultant will be responsible for managing the direct procurement of the software, AV and hardware together with implementing prototype testing and evaluation to ensure the final installations deliver to the high expectations of our visitors, funders and other key stakeholders.

Total quantity or scope of tender

Current estimates indicate that the development cost of software exclusive of VAT is approximately £550k.

 

Hardware is anticipated to cost approximately £450k (excl. VAT).

 

3 Conditions for Participation

3.1

Minimum standards and qualification required

Experience

It is essential that tenderers are able to demonstrate they have managed the development of mechanical, AV and software based interactive exhibits within a museum environment. This includes responsibility for procuring AV, software and hardware and the management of exhibit prototyping/evaluation.

 

Seclection

Selection of the successful tenderer will be made following a formal evaluation of the tender submissions and interviews.
