II.2.4)Description of the procurement:
Essex County Council (ECC) seeks input from the market to inform the scoping of a potential procurement opportunity concerning networking and communications. Our aim is to provide ECC with modern, flexible, cost-effective technology solutions for connectivity and voice and we are looking for potential suppliers to engage with us on market innovation, service delivery models and their service offering.
Connectivity and voice are presently provided to ECC under a fully managed service for WAN, LAN and telephony (mobiles, contact centres, VOIP and some residual fixed line telephony), across an estate of ~160 Essex end sites, including core sites such as County Hall.
ECC seeks to engage with networking and communications suppliers to explore market innovation and service delivery models for its future requirements. Whilst current requirements are met under a single agreement, ECC recognises that different elements of the current service may be met by different delivery models and welcomes interest from suppliers that can provide all elements of the current service as well as cutting edge innovators and suppliers who specialise in one or more elements of ECC’s future requirements.
ECC is also keen to understand how innovation, market trends and delivery models will be impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic and what opportunities that presents.
ECC may also consider collaboration with partner authorities and other public sector bodies when bringing requirements to the market.
Market engagement sessions will take place remotely via MS Teams w/c 20 and 27 July 2020, in 1 hour sessions. ECC will engage with a maximum of 20 suppliers and, if supplier interest exceeds the number of sessions available, respondents will be selected to participate based on the range of relevant experience, ensuring representation from a range of networking and communications providers.
Please email felicity.shirley@essex.gov.uk with expressions of interest by no later than 12.00 noon on Monday 6 July 2020.
