Description of the goods or services requiredThe City of Edinburgh Council wishes to appoint a suitable qualified and experienced contractor to undertake the construction of a new Autism Day care and Respite centre, car parking provision and landscaping works to the site at 157 Duddingston Road West, Craigmillar EH14 4UY. The contractors will be required to carryout all works to deliver this project. It should be noted that this project will be notifiable to HSE and that the contractor will be expected to take on the role of Principal Contractor in terms of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007. |

Total quantity or scope of tenderGenerally the work will consist of: asbestos removal and demolition of the existing single storey facility and adjacent janitor’s house, together with the construction of a new Autism Day care and Respite centre, car parking provision and landscaping works. Works are programmed to start on site late summer 2013 with a planned completion in autumn 2014. The estimated total value of the works is anticipated at approximately £3.5m excluding vat. |
