New Museum Fit-Out, Lews Castle, Stornoway

Description of the goods or services required

The Comhairle wishes to appoint a fit-out contractor for the new Museum at Lews Castle, Stornoway, Isle of Lewis.

The fit-out contract will include the construction, supply and installation of all displays and associated equipment within the new museum. This will be mainly within the new-build museum. There will also be some fit-out in some areas of the ground floor of the restored Castle.

The contract will include, but is not limited to the following:

– Setting out, construction and installation of Set-Works including display plinths, structures and walls to include graphics, objects, Interactive AV and ICT Exhibits

– Museum standard Showcases

– AV & ICT Hardware suitable for sustained use in public spaces

– Production and installation of high quality, durable Exhibition Graphics

– Design development and manufacture of reliable and durable mechanical and electronic Interactive Exhibits suitable for consistent use within a public environment

– The supply and installation of Lighting & Electrical Works to deliver power, data and lighting from the termination of the building supply to the displays and exhibits.
