Description of the goods or services requiredNewport City Council, on behalf of the Tourism Destination Management Group of the City of Newport, has in partnership with the Business Improvement District of the City Centre, Newport Now, applied for, and been successful in being awarded grant by the Welsh Government, Visit Wales to help develop the understanding of Newport’s story in order to join up the individual products and improve the visitor experience . This will encourage return visits and local spend, supporting the Welsh Government Partnership for Growth strategy to 2020. The clients are therefore Newport City Council and’ Newport Now’ the Business Improvement District. http://newportbid.com/ Newport has significant heritage, culture and a range of things to do . Much work has already been done to identify the heritage of Newport and to develop key marketing collateral. These can be used as a resource to support the ‘Welcome to Newport’ project, bringing together the often disparate and independent sources of information, in a more meaningful way, for Newport as a visitor destination. This to be used for different content related outcomes. The aim of this is that Newport begins to develop a bottom up brand identity for visitors, that inspires an Ambassadorial programme across the City.
