Description of the contract

The Centre for Public Health Excellence (CPHE) at NICE has been asked by the Department of Health to develop public health programme guidance for the social services, health services and those they work with on the prevention and reduction of domestic violence (defined as any incident of threatening behaviour, violence or abuse (psychological, physical, sexual, financial or emotional) between people who are or have been intimate partners, regardless of gender or sexuality. It excludes honour based violence, forced marriage and female genital mutilation (FGM) perpetrated on adults, and abuse of elders or other vulnerable adults by family members. The successful contractor will be expected to:- •Prepare a review protocol and search strategy, in consultation with the NICE team and CPHE’s methods and processes (see below), that develops the information in the scope to include technical details of searching and inclusion/exclusion criteria. •Undertake the evidence review in line with the review protocol and CPHE’s methods and process manuals (see below). This will include data searching, data assessment, extraction (including quality appraisal), synthesis and presentation. •Attend, present at and contribute to up to 8 Programme Development Group (PDG) meetings. •Revise the evidence review in response to any comments received from the NICE team, stakeholders and PDG members. •Assist the NICE team in preparing responses to stakeholder comments to any queries submitted relating to the evidence reviews and model during the guidance consultation phase. The successful contractor will be required to undertake the evidence review between mid-March 2012 and January 2014.
