Norfolk County Council is currently undergoing significant change in the way it funds and delivers services. It is in these circumstances that we are seeking an occupational health provider to provide services across Norfolk. The successful tenderer would be expected to provide occupational health services to employees, either in the direct employment of Norfolk County Council or employed by organisations who use Norfolk County Council Support Services. Services will be delivered remotely (by internet and telephone), at the providers site or Council sites, as appropriate. Further to Paragraph 3 of the Best Value Statutory Guidance issued by the Secretary of State for Local Government in September 2011, the Council is seeking to consult current and potential providers of these services about options for the future delivery of the service. Prior to a contract notice being issued and applications being invited, a “Concept Viability” event is to be held to explore the Authority’s plans further. We are aiming to hold the event on 14th June 2013. It will provide an opportunity to find out more about Norfolk County Council’s Commissioning plans for the provision of Occupational Health. The event also aims to inform providers of our intentions and what we hope to achieve, to ascertain what potential providers see as areas of risk, and to find out what (if anything) would stop interested parties applying for this business opportunity. Places will be limited to 2 people per organisation (to be limited to 1 if numbers become unmanageable). If you are interested in this opportunity you are advised to attend the event. To book a place please e-mail sourcingteam@norfolk.gov.uk providing your name, organisation name, e-mail address and contact telephone number, quoting ‘NCCT402342 OH Concept Viability Event ‘ in the subject line of your e-mail. The Authority has considered (pursuant to the Public Services (Social Value) Act 2012) whether to explicitly seek social value through this procurement, but has decided, in light of the value and the subject matter, that it is not appropriate on this occasion. [The Authority has also concluded that it is not necessary to consult about social value in this instance.]
