The Occupational Therapy service will be provided to children and young people with the following needs: Cognition and learning; being productive.
The Occupational Therapy service will provide children, young people, and family-centred services up until the child’s 25th birthday that recognise and build upon their strengths and focus upon improving outcomes. The Occupational Therapy service will be provided to children and young people with the following needs: • Cognition and learning; Being productive, e.g. participating in nursery, school and post 16 educational institutions • Social, emotional and mental health; Playing and socialising, including with friends, belonging to a group, participating in social activities within an educational environment • Sensory and/or physical needs; Self-care, e.g. getting dressed, eating a meal, washing, and toileting • Sensory processing needs Community children’s therapy services will implement an effective integrated working model which maximises the contribution of therapists within universal, targeted, and specialist service areas. Parents, post-16 providers, schools, and Early Years settings are key partners to the success of delivering effective community children’s therapy services. Service models will support them to meet some therapeutic need themselves through training, skill sharing and coaching.
