Countywide work is in progress to remodel day time support in line with personalisation, to respond to changes in demand and to plan for the future. Increasingly organisations providing day time support services will become reliant on income from personal budgets and self funders paying directly for support. Lancashire County Council (LCC) are working with a range of stakeholders and organisations to manage this transition. The vision for future day support provision is to have a range of options / menu, of building based and community based services with a focus on delivering activities and outcomes which customers would choose to buy ( either with a personal budget or via their own funds). However the transition from current service models of traditional building based services may take a number of years to achieve. LCC are working with providers and customers to take incremental steps towards modernising the day time support offer in Lancashire. As part of this work Lancashire County Council are inviting suitably experienced organisations to deliver the following contracts: Rural Day Time Support Services North Lancashire Community Links, Development and Befriending Services North Lancashire Day Time Support Services Central Lancashire Enhanced Dementia Day Time Support Services Central Lancashire (Withy Trees) It is LCC’s intention that the contracts awarded will start on the 1st October 2013 and continue for a 1 year duration with the option to extend annually for a maximum contract duration of 3 years with the exception of the Withy Trees contract which will commence on the 1st October 2013 and continue for a 3 year duration with the option to extend annually for a maximum contract duration of 5 years.
