A Joint Oral Health Promotion Service in Camden and Islington including a Flouride Varnish Service Oral health promotion plays an important role preventing oral diseases and addressing oral health inequalities. Oral diseases are amongst the most commonly found chronic diseases and are largely preventable. They are increasingly concentrated in vulnerable and disadvantaged population groups and those experiencing socio-economic deprivation. In Camden, contrary to national trends, prevalence of dental decay has been increasing since 2007
Please note that it is likely the Fair Deal policy regarding NHS pension will apply should TUPE apply to this service.

Aim of the Service:
To deliver an efficient, effective and innovative oral health promotion service to improve oral health and reduce oral health inequalities in the population of Camden and Islington. The service to include a flouride varnish service.
Strategic outcomes:
a) Reduction in prevalence of tooth decay in children and adults;
b) Reduction in oral health inequalities;
c) Increased access to the NHS dental services in children and adults;
d) Increased adult oral health quality of life.
Annual value of the contract is 700 000 GBP for 3 years. There is also the option to extend for up to a further 2 years at the sole discretion of Camden and Islington Councils.
Estimated value excluding VAT: 3 500 000 GBP
