The requirement is for a Company to carry out the inspection, testing, and reactive minor repairs, including emergency call out repairs to approximately 218 636 Pieces of fixed/portable equipment installed in each and every building owned by Fife Council, throughout Fife. There are approximately 13 289 fixed appliances. Not all fixed/portable are tested on an annual basis, thus annually approximately 160 000 pieces of equipment are tested/inspected. The properties include schools, care homes, group homes, sports centres, offices, museums, libraries, theatres, halls, police stations, radio stations etc.
Advising the Client on compliance with relevant legislation/regulations/best practice, the recommendation and provision of upgrade proposals and costs.
The contract requires the Contractor to provide a call out service using a free phone telephone number and includes the provision of a 7 day per week / 365 days per year call out service, 24 hours hour response time for site attendance for all repairs and callouts, and where possible ensure a first time fix for both.
