The contract being tendered for is for the provision of Investment Management Services for a Balanced Fund Manager, who will be complimentary to the Funds existing manager (UBS). The portfolio presently managed by Baillie Gifford, valued at approximately GBP 1,2 billion.
A number of other public bodies may also wish to contract for the provision of the services to themselves through the contract awarded. Further details are set out in section VI.3) below.

Organisations will be required to have insurance cover of at least: Public Liability 10 000 000 GBP, Employers Liability 10 000 000 GBP and Professional Indemnity 25 000 000 GBP.
West Sussex County Council is a Public Authority within the meaning of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and all correspondence received will be dealt with in accordance with the Act. The Council will enter into the contract for itself and on behalf of other public bodies which are Contracting Authorities, within the meaning of the Public contract Regulations 2006 and which exist or are established or otherwise exercise some or all of their statutory functions within the County of West Sussex and the adjoining south-east counties (‘Partner Organisations’) and any such Partner Organisation will be entitled, with the prior written consent of and through the County Council to access contract and require services to be delivered to it by the appointed organisation on the same or substantially the same terms and conditions as agreed with the Council. These Partner Organisations include administering bodies of the Local Government Pension Scheme, LGPS.
The anticipated value of the contract is approximately 1 000 000 to 6 000 000 GBP per annum for West Sussex County Council alone. The contract is also available to members of the Society of County Treasurers (http://www.sctnet.org.uk/Members). The contract is also available to all administering bodies of the LGPS local government pension scheme (http://www.lgps.org.uk). Therefore the contract value could rise from 1 000 000 to 50 000 000 GBP per annum should LGPS administering bodies wish to access the contract. Access to the contract will be on a first come first served basis, therefore once the upper range of the contract value stated in the OJEU has been reached the contract will be closed to other LGPS administering bodies joining. The Council gives no guarantee or commitment as to the initial and future value of any work arising from this contract.
